Payroll & Employer
Employer of Record Vietnam
Employ in Vietnam without incorporating a local entity
We become the legal employer of people you have chosen, in Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand or Indonesia. The contract, the payroll, the compulsory contributions and the local labour compliance become ours. What they work on and who they answer to stay yours. Priced per active employee through nine locally-incorporated entities, and available only for people hired in the country where they already hold the right to work.

How it works
1
Scope
We establish the role, the country of hire, where the work is physically performed, and which obligations that combination triggers. Every employer duty is mapped before a contract is issued.
2
Onboard
Our entity issues the labour contract, completes the registrations, and handles the onboarding paperwork. Nothing about how you manage the person changes.
3
Run
Salary paid monthly in local currency, compulsory contributions calculated and remitted at the rates each authority sets, leave administered, PIT withheld, and the annual finalisation filed on time in whichever market applies.
4
Adjust
Scale headcount, transition employees to your own entity when you incorporate, or wind down - your call. Documented handover at every stage.
Employer of Record in Vietnam, backed by 24+ years of group heritage
The reason employers use EOR in Vietnam is usually the timetable. Setting up a foreign-invested company means an investment registration certificate before an enterprise registration certificate, then capital contribution, tax and seal registration, and only then employer registration for the compulsory insurances. Months, not weeks, and a strong candidate will not wait through it. The alternative most companies reach for, paying a full-time person as a freelance contractor, is the one genuinely risky option: where the work looks like employment, the authorities treat it as employment, and the unpaid insurance contributions and personal income tax come with it. EOR gives you the real employment relationship now. Your hire becomes our employee on paper, with compulsory social, health and unemployment insurance, monthly tax withholding, a labour contract of the right type and term, and severance accruing properly. Our practice runs through People Profilers Services Vietnam Company Limited. If you are still weighing whether the model fits, our guide to what an employer of record is and when you need one. For the figures behind each of these obligations, see what those contributions add up to in practice.
How our EOR pricing works
Two components and no others. A service fee set as a percentage of the employee's total monthly salary cost, subject to a minimum per employee, and the statutory employer contributions passed through at whatever rate the authority in that country sets. No retainer, nothing charged for an empty seat, and the whole fee recorded in the engagement letter before onboarding.
Service fee - % of total salary cost
- ✓Percentage of total monthly salary cost (incl. reimbursements)
- ✓Subject to a minimum monthly fee per employee
- ✓Both % and minimum vary by country (VN, SG, MY, TH, ID)
- ✓Exact rates confirmed in engagement letter before onboarding
Pass-through statutory contributions
- ✓SI/UI/HI employer portion (Vietnam)
- ✓SI, UI, and HI at statutory rates (Vietnam)
- ✓Country-equivalent contributions in SG / MY / TH / ID
- ✓Calculated at official rates - no markup, no margin
One-time + situational
- ✓One-time onboarding setup per employee
- ✓Employment contract drafting + statutory registrations
- ✓Annual leave encashment + final settlement at separation
- ✓Optional add-ons: expense management, leave portal access
Fees are in writing before onboarding. There is no retainer and no minimum headcount, you pay only for employees actually active, and billing is in the local currency of each country.
When Employer of Record makes sense in Vietnam
Three situations account for nearly all the demand, and they share a shape: you want somebody working in a country before you want a company there.
You have found the person before you have the entity
Put a salesperson in Ho Chi Minh City or an engineer in Hanoi without first spending months on incorporation, capital contribution, a corporate bank account and tax registration. If the market does not justify itself, there is no company to unwind.
You are testing Vietnam before committing to it
The decision to incorporate is taken, but the entity and its registrations will take months, and the person you want will not wait. We employ them meanwhile and transfer them to your entity once it is operating.
You want to stop paying an employee as a contractor
Integration teams after an acquisition, fixed-term project resources, people held on while a market is wound down. Cases where incorporating locally would never repay itself.
One limit stated plainly: this covers local hires only, meaning citizens and others already entitled to work in that country. We do not use it to place somebody into a country where they hold no right to work.

Industries & Functions We Cover
The sectors below are the ones we recruit into, which matters more than it first appears: an employer of record signs the contract, so knowing what a normal package looks like for that role in that country is what keeps an offer competitive without being reckless. That knowledge comes from hiring across these industries rather than from a salary survey.
Aerospace & Aviation
Aircraft maintenance technicians, avionics and component specialists, ground operations and aviation supply chain roles around Tan Son Nhat, Noi Bai and Long Thanh.
Automotive
Production and quality engineers, supplier development, sales and aftersales management for assemblers and the growing EV and component base.

Relationship managers, credit and risk analysts, compliance and AML officers and operations specialists across Vietnamese commercial banks, insurers and securities firms.

FMCG & Retail
Brand and trade marketing managers, key account and modern trade specialists, and retail operations across a fast-growing national footprint.
Healthcare
Clinical operations, nursing leadership, medical representatives and regulatory specialists for private hospital groups and device companies.
IT & Telecommunication
Software engineers, DevOps, product managers and data specialists across the Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and Da Nang development centres and outsourcing firms.
Logistics & Transportation

Frequently asked questions
Who is the legal employer when I engage People Profilers EOR?
Our locally-incorporated entity in the country of hire. It issues the labour contract, runs the payroll, completes the registrations and carries the employer obligations under that country's labour code.
You direct the work: what the person does, who they report to, how performance is judged. The line runs between employing someone and managing them, and only the first crosses to us.
Who is eligible to be hired through your EOR service?
People who already hold the right to work in the country where the work happens. Citizens, and anyone else with that entitlement independently of us.
What this is not is a way into a country for somebody with no standing there. We will not use an employer of record arrangement as a substitute for a work permit, and any provider offering that is creating a problem rather than solving one. Where a genuine relocation is what you need, our work permit service handles it properly.
Which countries can you act as Employer of Record in?
Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia, each through our own entity rather than a partner arrangement. That matters when something goes wrong, because no third party sits between you and the entity that signed the contract.
Indonesia carries one restriction worth knowing in advance: we do not provide employer of record or outsourcing there for the supporting functions the regulations reserve, which include cleaning, catering, security, driving and transport, operational support, and support services to mining, oil, gas and electricity.
How is the EOR service fee calculated?
A percentage of the employee's total monthly salary cost, with a minimum monthly fee per employee so that junior roles remain viable to administer.
Separately and visibly, the statutory employer contributions are passed through at the official rate. We do not mark those up and the calculation appears on the invoice.
No retainer, no onboarding fee, no minimum headcount. The percentage is agreed in the engagement letter and holds for the engagement.
How are statutory employer contributions handled?
Calculated at the rate the authority in that country sets and remitted on the statutory deadline. In Vietnam that means the compulsory social, health and unemployment insurance contributions and the trade union contribution where it applies, with the corresponding obligations handled in each other market.
They are billed at cost. Where a rate or a contribution cap changes, the new figure applies from its effective date and appears on the invoice rather than being absorbed into an unexplained increase.
What if I want to transition my EOR employee to my own entity later?
That is the intended ending and the arrangement is built for it. Once your entity is incorporated and registered, the employee transfers across on agreed terms, keeping continuity of service, accrued leave and their existing package.
There is no transfer fee. Charging to release an employee you always meant to take on would make the bridge cost more than the river.
